National Candy Month – as if you needed another reason to eat candy. But as long as you’ve got to celebrate, we thought we’d try and make it a bit healthier for you.

We have tried a number of sugar-free candy options for you to see which ones meet our rigorous sweet tooth standards. It was a rough job, but somebody had to do it!

Here are some really good “Sugar-Free” or “Low Sugar” alternatives we feel you should definitely try.

Stevita – – For those that are into hard candy, these stevia sweetened treats are a wonderful substitute for lemon drops and similar lozenges.

Smart Sweets – – Think almost sugar-free Swedish Fish, gummy worms, red licorice and the like. Sweetened with Monk Fruit and Allulose. Only 3 grams of sugar in an entire bag that contains 9 to 10 pieces, as opposed to 4 to 6 grams in every piece of regular Swedish Fish.

Lilys Chocolates – – A full line of delicious stevia and erythritol sweetened dark and milk chocolate bars and candies. Also, chocolate chips for baking.

Russell Stover Sugar-Free Candies – – A large variety of sugar free (Stevia and Maltitol sweetened) chocolate caramels, mints, peanut butter cups, pecan delights as well as hard candy and more.

Scrummy Gummy Bears – – Taste and texture of classic gummies with no sugar, no artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners. Only 1 gram of net carbs per bag. They also have a line of caramels.

There are a lot of other sugar-free candies out there. Check to see if there is something that might tickle your tastebuds.

Important Note: Remember, just because it’s healthier doesn’t mean BINGE!
Enjoy, but enjoy sanely.
