Pain Relief

Problem

Let’s face it pain is a pain! There is no getting around it. When your body hurts, it lets you know in a hurry. There are all kinds of pain from joint and back pain to stomach aches. Backs, knees, necks, shoulders, everyone seems to have some kind of ache or pain. Some are serious, some are nagging some are just fall in the natural order of life – the owies. Nonetheless, they all create a problem in running your body in an optimal fashion.

One of the most recurrent areas of pain is the stomach. Everyone has dealt with stomach pain. Ugh, stomach cramps, stomach aches may have different causes like muscle strain, gas pain or an upset stomach.
Stomach pain may derive from a problem in the stomach or body parts related to digestion. Sometimes stomach pain after eating occurs, related to certain foods or ingesting alcohol or drugs. It may also originate from nearby organs, such as the gallbladder, the appendix, your bowels or the pancreas.

Stomach pain is a common malady and it is vital to not your exact symptoms and the phasing of the pain. A stomach ache may disappear in a few hours, come and go or get worse over time. If pain is severe or worsening, see your doctor.

Generally, the best way to relieve chronic pain is by finding its root cause — not just masking the symptoms. You have to understand that pain is fundamentally an attention-getter. In fact, it’s probably our body’s most effective way of letting us know something is out of balance and needs to change.

A big problem, though, is that we don’t treat it that way. Instead, we load up on medications that can have toxic and addictive side effects. Additionally, pain meds (both prescription and over-the-counter) were recently shown to increase risk of heart attack and stroke. And worse, these drugs don’t even fix the problem. They just cover it up for a while, until you develop a tolerance for your dosage. Then you’re prescribed even more. That’s not good medicine! It totally ignores the body’s natural healing capabilities. Also, prescription drugs often create nutrient deficiencies.
Natural pain relief is the only way to fly.

Solutions

There are a number of natural means of handling pain. It may require a change in lifestyle when it comes to diet and exercise, but this is relatively easy to do when you think of the overall benefits.

Anti-Inflammatory Diet

Pain is often caused or even aggravated by inflammation. It is a good idea to start an anti-inflammatory diet to help diminish the pain symptoms. The reason is simple and the benefits from this type of diet are enormous, chief amongst these is that you will feel better. This is a body-friendly diet – bottom line! Additionally, the high fiber content of this type of diet helps the body purge toxins that can cause inflammation in the first place. Pain relief will most likely be gradual and this is most definitely requiring a lifestyle change that is entirely worth making. Eat well, live well is what my momma always says.

Massage

There is nothing like a massage to release the tension and stress that builds up in your body. Massages stimulate blood flow enabling energy to flow freely throughout the body. It helps improve lymph circulation which enables the body to remove toxins. All you can say is ahhhhhh!

Chiropractic

Just like a massage, getting a chiropractic adjustment promotes self-healing as it aligns your spine and other body parts. Misaligned vertebrae can affect your nerves, muscles and bones. Bottom-line, straightening them out allows the energy to flow smoothly throughout your body and helps get rid of pain and mobility issues.

Exercise

The best thing you can do when you feel pain is to get some motion in the body. My physical therapist once asked me when I thought was the best time to exercise. My retort was simple: “When I don’t want to.” “You are right,” he replied. And that is a truth, ladies and gentlemen. Get your body in motion with regular and sensible exercise for 15 to 20 minutes a day. It will get your energy going, improve breathing and blood flow. No motion = stiff joints and muscles. You have to get out there no matter how much you don’t feel like it or want to do it. But take it easy, this is not a contest, you don’t want to over do it. Just be smart about it and you can work some of the kinks out of your body.
