High Cholesterol Levels

The problem:

Cholesterol is a natural part of our bodies. It is found in every cell of the body and is essential to help generate vitamin D, assist in digestion, and to help the body produce hormones. Hormones are the body’s messengers. They deliver messages all over the body to control everything from digestion and metabolism, to mood and energy level, and of course, they also have to do with sexual drive.

There are two types of cholesterol; LDL (low-density lipoproteins, bad cholesterol) and HDL (high-density lipoproteins, good cholesterol). It has been found that despite good eating and exercise habits, some people still struggle to keep their cholesterol level in a healthy range. High cholesterol can lead to heart disease, including blockage of the arteries, and a heart attack.

The solution:

The first thing a person should do when trying to control their cholesterol level is to make changes in their diet. This would include eating more fruits and vegetables, avoiding fried and processed foods, and avoiding commercial meats.

In addition to these lifestyle changes, there are certain nutrients which may help your body to maintain a healthy cholesterol level. One of those is phytosterols. Phytosterols (a nutrient that looks like plant cholesterols under a microscope) are similar to cholesterol, but without cholesterol’s harmful effects. Phytosterols fill up the cholesterol receptors in the intestines and as a result, allows the high levels of cholesterol that you don’t want, to be flushed out of the body.

Other nutrients which may help with healthy cholesterol levels are vitamin D, Policosanol, and niacin. We combined these key ingredients to create our Cholesterol Support Formula.
